A plan to automatically enrol workers in a pension has been in the works for two decades. Yet the glacial speed to solve the problem of so few having a pension appeared to pick up pace earlier this month when an Oireachtas committee on social protection published its pre-legislative scrutiny report on a bill to introduce automatic enrolment (AE).
