Sunday Business Post put up for sale

The newspaper the Sunday Business Post has been put up for sale by its private equity owners, Key Capital.

The owners, who bought the paper in 2013 in a deal reported to be worth in excess of €1.2m, have confirmed that they have appointed BDO Corporate Finance to examine “strategic options” for Sunrise Media, the holding company for the business, the Irish Times reports.

It is believed that tentative talks have already commenced with a number of parties that are potentially interested in buying the paper.

The paper employs around 50 staff.

Sunrise Media is also the holding company for Cork-based Webprint which has also been put up for sale.

Webprint employ around 25 staff.

Along with a weekly newspaper, the Sunday Business Post has a digital operation which is behind a paywall.
