Scisys Media Solutions, a subsidiary of Dublin-listed Scisys, has won a contract from a "major" European broadcaster for newsroom software, services and training.

The group will provide a newsroom solution for planning and rundown management.

Under the agreement, the broadcaster will use software solutions - OpenMedia INFINITY and NEWSBOARD – developed by Scisys and used by 75,000 journalists worldwide for clients such as the BBC and Germany’s ARD group.

In a statement, Scisys said the win adds a "strategically important" new customer to its media solutions portfolio and is included in existing market guidance.

It added that it further strengthens the position of Scisys Media Solutions' as the leading supplier of newsroom solutions in Europe.

Klaus Heidrich, CEO of Scisys, said: "We are delighted with this contract win, which demonstrates that we are leaders in the European market with our premium OpenMedia and NEWSBOARD products for newsrooms and broadcasters."

The UK firm, which risked being cut off from European Union contracts after Brexit, became the first London-listed firm to seek entry to what was formally the Irish Stock Exchange, now Euronext Dublin.
