Irish Examiner newspaper group to shed up to 60 jobs
THE Irish Examiner group of newspapers, owned by Landmark Media, is to shed up to 60 jobs as part of a restructuring.
The losses will hit between 25 and 30 positions at the firm's regional newspapers and around 20 in Cork.
The company said today the redundancies came as a result of "technical investment and efficiencies."
It is understood staff were informed of the news at a meeting in the newspaper's Cork office around lunchtime.
A total of 560 are currently employed by the group while the redundancies will target 10pc of workers.
It is also understood that the jobs being lost at the Cork office will be voluntary redundancies while some may be compulsory.
