Are podcasts the new radio? Will audio take over our lives with the rise of smart speakers? And why have podcasts exploded in the last few years?

These are just some of the questions being discussed at PodX, Ireland’s first business of podcasting seminar, being held in Dublin on Wednesday, September 19.

Eric Nuzum, one of America’s best known creators of iconic podcasts including TED Radio Hour, Ask Me Another, and Invisibilia, with NPR, as well short-form content Sincerely X, The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson, and Where Should We Begin? will be giving the keynote on the topic of the rise of podcasts and the content that audiences want.

There will also be panel discussions on ‘Measurement & Monetisation’ and ‘The Future of Audio’ with speakers including: Darragh Rea, Senior Director Edelman, Gareth Hickey, Co-Founder and CEO, News Over Audio, Steve Dempsey, Head of Product Management, INM, Taz Kelleher, Podcast Producer, Fergus Ryan, Wolfgang Digital, and Kevin Kent, Head of Marketing, Laya Healthcare.

PodX promises to delve deep into the how, what and why of the podcast landscape in Ireland, looking at the seismic changes in the audio landscape, the role of technology in its development and how our listening habits are changing in the process.

There are a limited number of places available so if you would like to attend please RSVP to Carla Bass at cbass@independent.ie by September 14.
