Mediahuis, the Belgium-headquartered media group currently in the process of buying Independent News & Media (INM), has announced a series of internal management changes.

Mediahuis CEO Gert Ysebaert, who has headed both Mediahuis's Belgian business and the overall group since 2014, will now focus on his group role.

For Ireland, pending final takeover approvals, Marc Vangeel, a senior Mediahuis executive who has been CEO of Telegraaf Media Groep in the Netherlands since 2017, will take on a leading Dublin-based role in integrating INM within Mediahuis, alongside Peter Vandermeersch, the former editor-in-chief of NRC - in the Netherlands.

The changes include further senior appointments in Belgium and the Netherlands.

INM shareholders voted to accept Mediahuis's €145.6m takeover offer at an EGM on Wednesday. The takeover remains subject to approval by Communications Minister Richard Bruton and final High Court sanction for the sale process.
