INM announce CEO Robert Pitt is leaving business 'to pursue other interests'
Independent News & Media (INM) CEO Robert Pitt has stood down, the company said today.
In a short statement released to the stock exchange, the company said that Robert Pitt had decided to leave the business, with effect from Friday, 13 October 2017, to pursue other interests.
The statement announcing his departure was issued by INM at 5pm this evening.
It was previously reported that Mr Pitt and chairman Leslie Buckley were at serious odds over a planned (but abandoned) acquisition of Newstalk, the national radio station owned by businessman Denis O'Brien's Communicorp.
Mr Buckley is a long-term associate of Mr O'Brien who owns a 29.88pc stake in INM.
