Independent News and Media appoints new editors
Independent News and Media has appointed new editors at the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent.
Fionnán Sheahan has been appointed Editor of this title with immediate effect.
The Tipperary native has been Group Political Editor with INM and is a well-known analyst of current affairs across print, online and broadcast media. He previously worked as Political Editor with the Irish Independent.
Cormac Bourke has been appointed as Editor of the Sunday Independent. The father of four from Kildare has worked in a number of roles for INM, including News Editor and Executive Editor at the Irish Independent.
Both will report to Group Editor-in-Chief, INM, Stephen Rae.
Mr Rae said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Fionnán and Cormac to their new roles, where they will lead the most successful daily and Sunday newspaper titles on the island.

On a daily basis with sales of 112,383 copies and a readership of 691,000, the Irish Independent continues to be the clear leader in the quality newspaper market, with a market share of both of its competitors combined.
