Hume Brophy acquires US and Hong Kong based Madaket+Co

Irish communications firm Hume Brophy has announced the acquisition of Madaket+Co, a communications consultancy firm with operations in New York and Hong Kong.

Hume Brophy, which specialises in public relations, public affairs, investor relations and corporate and financial communications, will establish its first full-time base in Hong Kong through the deal.

The six member team of corporate and financial communications specialists in Hong Kong will join Hume Brophy’s existing 12-strong Asia team, headquartered in Singapore and led by Asia managing director Martin Reidy.

Day-to-day operations in Hong Kong will be led by Thomas Kwan, who assumes the role of director at the Hong Kong office.

The acquisition of Madaket+Co, with its Hong Kong and US offices, adds geographic reach to Hume Brophy’s practice, which already covers London, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore and Dublin.

Founded in 2005 by John Hume and Eoin Brophy, the company has 120 employees drawn from various backgrounds including media, advertising, marketing, investor relations, professional services and industry association backgrounds.

In addition, the company is supported by a global panel of senior consultants, including former editors, journalists, regulators, European Union commissioners, members of the European Parliament, national parliamentarians, government ministers and, special advisers and officials.
