Hypnotist Keith Barry will be appearing on prime time television State-side after shooting a new series in LA for Fox.

"It's called 'Hypnotise Me.' It's a big buy. It will be eight one-hour shows with Taye Diggs as the host," Keith told Independent.ie today.

"It will be prime time Fox television, and we are waiting on the air date at the moment. It is all shot and in the can, so we are just waiting on the editorial to decide when they want to air it but I would say later this year. Then we have a tour booked on the back of it, so once that airs, I will tour across the US," said Keith.

It isn't his first time appearing on television in the States. He previously had a show on CBS, and most recently for the Discovery Channel, when he did five one-hour shows called 'Deception with Keith Barry.'

Speaking about how it all came about, Keith said: "There are lot of TV festivals in Cannes, and last year when they were selling the format - it's a UK owned format - they asked me would I go to Cannes. They got a room full of TV executives and I put on a small performance for about half an hour, just explaining what hypnosis was and then I grabbed three people who said that they couldn't be hypnotised."

He succeeded in hypnotising them and ultimately that is what helped sell the show.

The format of the show has been aired in a number of countries around the world and Keith has done many of the English speaking territories, including Australia and the UK version.

The UK version of the show "You're Back in the Room" was hosted by presenter Philip Schofield.

Keith, who is a hypnotherapist, also was one of the speakers at the Pendulum Summit in Dublin today. He told the audience that they must find a passion for what they do.

He works with sports people, and business people. "I do believe life is too short to not be happy. It doesn't mean that we are always going to be happy all of the time, but you need to have tools and techniques to allow yourself to be happy," he said.
