Kefron acquires both Lightspeed and Evolution in €1 million investment
Kefron, an Irish-owned document and information management company, has acquired Evolution and Lightspeed as part of a €1m investment that will see it increase its staff count by 20.
Staff at both Lightspeed and Evolution will be retained and Kefron aim to employ more than the initial 20 before the end of the year.
Dublin-based Evolution provides integrated software solutions for clients both in Ireland and the UK. As part of the acquisition Evolution's managine director, Alistair Thacker, has been appointed as head of technology at Kefron.
Meanwhile at UK-based Lightspeed, directors Adrian Guice and Andrew Forward will continue in their roles in operations and sales respectively.
Speaking about the acquisitions, Paul Kearns, Managing Director of Kefron said: “We continue to see an increasing growth in businesses transitioning their processes from manual to automated. Digital document management solutions can drive real efficiency and cost savings for our customers.
"Whilst there are many standards and best practice for physical records management, customers are looking for advice and solutions for their digital document management processes, such as Forms Processing, Account Payable and HR. The acquisition of both Evolution and Lightspeed will provide us with additional capacity and in-house software skills to meet and exceed our clients’ needs for document management as we continue to grow this part of our business," Mr Kearns said.
Kefron currently provides information management solutions, including digital and hard copy services, for a client base that includes Tesco, Gift Voucher Shop and Wicklow County Council.
