Agri-services firm Origin Enterprises has appointed Brendan Corcoran to the role of head of investor relations and group planning.

Mr Corcoran, who has "extensive" agri-business experience in a corporate banking career spanning over thirteen years, will commence the role in September.

He moves to Origin from HSBC Corporate Banking, where he is currently relationship director leading the Agri, Food and Beverage portfolio, with responsibility for advising and supporting corporates in the sector.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2010, Mr Corcoran was a senior relationship officer at AIB Capital Markets.

"We are delighted to welcome Brendan to Origin. Brendan combines a deep sector insight with broad commercial experience, which together with his strong communication skills, makes him an excellent choice to further build upon our engagement with shareholders," Tom O’Mahony, CEO of Origin, said.

Mr O’Mahony went on to thank Andrew Mills for this contribution in leading the group's investor relations programme over the past two years.

Mr Mills will remain with Origin for an unspecified period of time to support the transition.

Separately, Origin has announced that it has received notification from Invesco of a decrease in its shareholding in the company.

Invesco is now the holder of 8,789,032 ordinary shares of €0.01 each in Origin. This holding represents approximately 6.99pc of the company's issued share capital, excluding treasury shares.

Dublin and London listed Origin has a market presence in Ireland, the UK, Belgium, Poland, Romania and Ukraine.
