Irish employers are expecting to increase staffing levels across virtually every industry in the country in the third quarter of 2015, according to a new study.

The latest Manpower Employment Outlook survey, carried out by Manpower Ireland, says that staffing levels are set to grow in ten out of the eleven sectors examined, with employers in the electricity, gas and water sector expecting the strongest jobs growth.

Employers have reported a seasonally adjusted "net employment outlook" of +7pc for June to September 2015, five percentage points ahead of the same time frame last year. This figure is also one of the highest registered for Ireland since 2007.

Employers in Ulster showed the strongest hiring intentions of all the provinces polled with an outlook of +16pc, up 16 percentage points on the previous quarter.

Employers in Connaught registered a modestly positive employment outlook of +1pc, however, this represents a decrease of 3 percentage point on the same period last year.

Jonny Edgar, Operations Manager of Manpower Ireland, said: "Employer confidence seems to be strengthening in Q3.

"The fact that employers in 10 out of the 11 sectors surveyed plan to increase staff in the coming months is great news for job seekers."

The survey was conducted by interviewing a sample of 620 Irish employers.
