Maarten Schuurman appointed managing director at Heineken Ireland
Maarten Schuurman has been appointed managing director at Heineken Ireland, effective from the beginning of next month.
To-date Mr Schuurman has enjoyed a successful 22-year career at Heineken, encompassing both global and general management leadership positons.
Mr Schuurman, who joined the group as a management trainee in 1996, will join the Irish business from his current role as head of global sales based in the company’s international headquarters in the Netherlands.
For the past three years, he shaped and delivered Heineken’s global sales agenda including revenue management and e-commerce across all continents, the group said in a statement today.
During his career with the drinks giant, he has held several finance and commercial roles in the Netherlands and has been managing director of Heineken’s operating companies in Suriname, South America and Burundi in East Africa.
Mr Schuurman will succeed Maggie Timoney who has been appointed chief executive of Heineken USA following five years as managing director of Heineken Ireland.
