IT jobs are on the rise

It’s a great time to look for a job in IT. The number of opportunities for IT professionals is on the up according to the latest Jobs Index, so which companies are hiring?

IT has always been a buoyant job sector and now the number of opportunities for IT professionals has increased even more.

The Index, which records the number of jobs advertised online, found that roles advertised in IT rose by 2% year on year and 10% over April, May and June this year. The key focus is firmly set on software engineers, java developers and QA professionals. Orla Moran General Manager of comments:

“When it comes to job hunting in IT, it’s definitely the candidate who is in the driving seat. There is fierce competition between companies for experienced IT professionals and the challenge for businesses is not just to find and recruit the best candidates, but also to retain them.

Organisations need to be ready to showcase all that they have to offer. Emphasising a positive work culture and a serious commitment to training and personal development is just the start in an attempt to woo jobseekers.”
