Former NAMA CFO appointed to Datalex management team

Datalex, the Dublin-based travel software firm, has appointed former NAMA chief financial office Dónal Rooney as its CFO.

Mr Rooney, who will take on the role on December 5th, has also been appointed as company secretary and director of the board.

He succeeds David Kennedy who will remain with Datalex for the remainder of the year, and will work closely with him to assist in the transition.

Prior to joining Datalex, Mr Rooney was CFO of Amaris Hospitality between 2016 and 2018, where he played a lead role in a successful private equity exit process.

From 2012-2016, Mr Rooney served as CFO of the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA), having previously worked as a senior portfolio manager at NAMA from 2010-2012.

Commenting today, Aidan Brogan CEO of Datalex said he was "delighted" to welcome Mr Rooney to the group.

"Dónal brings a wealth of financial and operational experience which I am confident will add significant value to the future performance and growth of Datalex. He will play a key role at Datalex in shaping the next phase of our growth and I look forward to working with him," Mr Brogan said.

Datalex’s software platforms are used by airlines and travel groups around the world to help boost ancillary revenues. Clients include Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Air China and American airline JetBlue.

Shareholders in the group include billionaire financier Dermot Desmond.
