Staff at the HP Inc plant in Co Kildare are bracing themselves for a meeting with management this morning.

Fears are now growing for the hundreds of jobs at the Leixlip plant.

Management at the facility are to address the 500 staff there in relation to the future of the operation.

HP split two years ago into two new companies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and HP Inc. HPE is a company that focuses on technology infrastructure and services, while HP Inc is a personal computing and printing company.

Both companies have a presence in Ireland.

However, HPE will not be involved in the jobs cuts, which are specifically related to HP Inc.

In October, HP Inc announced there were set to cut up to 4,000 jobs globally.
