CORK city's CIX data centre has expanded with a €6m investment.

The new data hall is one of two new buildings at CIX in Hollyhill which are doubling the footprint of the privately operated data centre, and bring a 500pc increase in connectivity capacity.

As part of the expansion, CIX will create 15 new jobs in Cork, Canada, and India over the next three years.

"We have invested and innovated to provide the best connectivity combined with the highest standards of service for our clients," Jerry Sweeney, head of CIX, said.

The business is also expanding into international markets.
