Bill Teuber has resigned from the board of Ireland’s largest company, CRH, with immediate effect.

Mr Teuber, who has served on the board of the buildings materials group since March 2016, cited "personal reasons" for his decision.

CRH chairman, Nicky Hartery said: "On behalf of the board I would like to thank Bill for his commitment to CRH, and in particular for his service as chairman of the audit committee. We wish him every success in the future."

Until September 2016 Mr Teuber was vice chairman of Dell, a role he held from 2006 to 2016.

He serves as the tech group’s chief financial officer from February 1996 to August 2006.

CRH today employs around 90,000 in 3,700 operating locations in 32 countries.
