Aircraft company to create over 20 jobs at Shannon

An aircraft interior modification and refurbishment specialist is to create 28 jobs at its Shannon operations over the next two years.

The company, which previously traded as Ujet Group, is expanding its business operating and establishing a European hub in Shannon following a merger with US company STS Component Solutions.

STS Component Solutions is a division of STS Aviation Group, which currently offer materials management, engineering services, technical support, original equipment manufacturer distribution, and supply chain management solutions to the aerospace industry based in Florida.

The company will now offer its growing customer base aircraft interior refurbishment and modification services including, full cabin reconfiguration, aircraft seats and support services under the newly formed brand, STS UJet.

"We are delighted to be expanding our operation to Shannon Free Zone," Mark Robertson, president of STS Ujet, said.

"Our new facilities provide us with the space to grow and expand into the future. Within two years we expect to more than double our workforce to 50 people, which currently stands at 22 people."

At the Shannon Free Zone the company will join the growing cluster of 60 aviation companies already based there which employ over 2,600 people.
