UTV names Richard Huntingford as chairman
UTV has finally named a new chairman, five months after a clear out at the company.
Richard Huntingford to replace John McGuckian, who quit in February along with TVC boss Shane Reihill and Kevin Lagan.
Mr Huntingford spent seven years as chief executive of UK media group Chrysalis until its radio division was sold to Global Radio in 2007.
He later became executive chairman of Virgin Radio which was later sold to the Times of India Group.
Mr Huntingford's appointment follows the dramatic boardroom coup which saw McGuckian leave after 22 years as chairman and 40 years with the company.
"I look forward to working with my new colleagues on the board in helping [chief executive]
John McCann and his executive team deliver continuing long-term value for UTV's shareholders," Mr Huntingford said in a statement today.
