Turkish firm casts eye over Aer Lingus
Turkish Airlines is the latest potential suitor for Aer Lingus, according to reports.
The airline is rumoured to have looked at the possibility of acquiring a stake in the carrier in a bid to improve its traffic flows between its home country and North America.
Its interest in Aer Lingus comes as Ryanair prepares to launch a formal €1.30-a-share bid for its rival within the next three weeks.
It has been speculated that Ryanair launched its third bid for Aer Lingus in a move designed to flush out buyers for the State's 25.1pc holding in the airline.
