Total profits rise to €1.74m at PR firm Weber Shandwick

Accumulated profits at the Irish arm of PR firm Weber Shandwick increased to €1.74m last year.

The firm counts the Irish business of retail giant IKEA among its clients.

New accounts show that profits at the Dublin firm last year increased by €62,000 from €1.67m.

Last year, Weber Shandwick - which also lists the Irish Hotels' Federation and the Irish Medicines Board as clients - celebrated its 25th anniversary in Dublin.

The cash pile at the firm last year reduced marginally from €1.386m to €1.37m.

The firm's debtors totalled €551,444.

Numbers employed by the firm increased from eight to ten with staff costs increasing from €587,388 to €601,624 that includes €539,957 in wages and salaries.

The breakdown of staff includes nine in PR and one in administration.

The jump in profits in 2014 followed an increase of €67,000 in accumulated profits in 2013.

Globally, Weber Shandwick operates a network of 123 offices in 81 countries.

Shareholder funds stood at €1.74m. Remuneration for directors last year reduced from €201,223 to €159,953.

The firm's directors are listed as Mary McCarthy, Colin Byrne and Siobhan Molloy.

The profit last year takes account of non-cash depreciation costs of €17,662.
