Topaz will this weekend ‘Raise a Teacup’ to the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation by donating 50c of the ‘Add a pastry for €1’ offer in its Re.Store retail outlets to the children’s charity from Saturday to Monday.

The campaign is part of the 20 anniversary celebrations of the Jack & Jill Foundation, which involve Afternoon Teas being held throughout the country to raise money for essential services.

As part of the campaign to raise awareness Topaz will be hosting tea mornings at participating sites on Saturday 5 August from 10am-12pm, attended by local Jack & Jill families.

The tea parties will be taking place in a number of locations around the country including Topaz’s Carlow M9 service station, Topaz Cashel, Topaz Ballacolla in Laois, Topaz Kill in Kildare, Topaz Clonshaugh in Dublin, Topaz City Avenue, also in Dublin, Topaz Ballysimon, Limerick, and Topaz Tuam, in Galway.

This campaign also marks €200,000 raised to date by Topaz for the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, through various campaigns including ‘Small Change for Big Change’, and their recent ‘LEGO Exchange’ drive, where customers could donate loose LEGO to Topaz stores to raise money for Jack & Jill.

These campaigns undertaken by Topaz have resulted in the provision of 12,500 hours of home care nursing to date for the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation.

The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, which was founded in 1997, provides direct funding to families of children up to the age of four years old suffering from severe intellectual and physical developmental delay as a result of brain damage, enabling them to purchase home nursing and respite care.

While parenting for most is about feeding, changing, teething, and wishing for a good night’s sleep, parenting for the families supported by Jack & Jill involves coping with seizures, feeding tubes and pain, alongside medication, physio appointments and hospital visits.

"I would like to extend my thanks to all Topaz staff, who have been invaluable in these fundraising efforts, and also to Topaz customers for their continued support of our worthy cause," Hugo Jellett, CEO of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, said.
