TalkTalk Waterford call centre sold for €500,000

The former Talk Talk call centre premises in Waterford has been bought for a sum believed to be about €500,000.

The purchaser is the Schivo Group which manufactures high-precision mechanical assemblies for the medical device and aerospace industries.

Acting on behalf of the vendor Layden Properties, the agents O'Shea O'Toole Real Estate Alliance had been quoting around €53.80 per sqm for the 3,871sqm facility, consisting of units 1D, 2 and 3 at the IDA Industrial Park.

Built in single storeys, the properties accommodate two call centres which come with a range of facilities, including full telecommunications networking and two communications rooms as well as desk pods to accommodate about 550 operators.

Other facilities include carpeted offices, interview rooms, training rooms, staff facilities and canteen and break areas. In addition, there is also on site car parking.

The site also benefits from access to the N25 Cork road and the Waterford outer ring road, which provides access to the M9 motorway via the new Waterford City bypass.

The IDA Industrial Park is located about two miles west of Waterford city centre.

Des O'Shea said there had been strong interest in the site from prospective occupiers including life science firms and call centre operators.
