THE SERVICES sector expanded for the first time in four months in August, new figures from NCB show.
New business for both domestic and external sources grew as the NCB Services PMI scored 51.7 – any figure above 50 represents expansion.
According to the survey, 43pc of respondents forecasted a higher level of business activity in 12 months' time, with 17pc showing a drop.
However, employment dropped slightly in the month according to NCB.
When examined by sector, financial services were flat but areas like transport, travel, tourism and leisure expanded.
