WE noted with interest the tender put out this week by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) for a PR contract.
The BAI is advertising a four-year gig worth €20,000, although one wonders how much advertising a body like the BAI needs to do.
It is the latest in a raft of public-sector tenders published in recent weeks. The Food Safety Authority, Bord Iascaigh Mhara and Dublin City Council have all advertised for PR services in October; while the National Treasury Management Agency put its contract out for tender in September.
Needless to say, there is a lot of movement in the Dublin PR industry to try to get a leg-up on these deals.
State contracts are, after all, rock solid.
