Rugby fans, get voting for your favourite firms

TEN lucky businesses have made the shortlist for the Bank of Ireland Sponsor for a Day Competition in association with

The winners get to sponsor two of the titan teams of Irish rugby, Munster and Leinster, for a Heineken Cup match next year.

Now readers can vote for their favourite companies in Munster and Leinster. The winning company's name will be emblazoned on front of jerseys at either the Leinster v Ospreys match at the RDS on the weekend of January 17, or, if supporting Munster is more your thing, the Munster game against Edinburgh at Thomond Park on the same weekend.

The prize also includes pitchside advertising, match corporate hospitality for 10 people, an advert in the match programme and pre- and post-game PR.


They'll be photographed along with the team and their company will be promoted through BoI's social media channels.

From over 600 entries, five firms have been chosen from Munster and five from Leinster. Now it's over to the public to pick the ultimate winners by voting online for their favourite team at

The Leinster hopefuls are Kildare tractor and machine retailer JH Fitzpatrick, Bushy Park Ironworks of Dublin, Gahan Meats, Meath company Gael Form; and Country Crest, a Dublin ready-made food business.

The five Munster finalists are: Co Clare furniture supplier Classical Decor; Limerick firm Ryan Stoves; O'Donnell's Crisps; Cork food-marketing business Bullseye; and West Cork dairy products company Glenilen.

"To see our company name on jerseys at Thomond Park would be an amazing opportunity for us, something we can only dream of," said Kate O'Donnell of O'Donnell's crisps.

While Leinster supporter Nigel Gahan of the third-generation Finglas family business Gahan Meats said: "As a proud Irish family-run business with strong sporting links we would be delighted to be associated with a Leinster team who achieved great success through hard work and dedication."
