RUGBY star Jonny Sexton's promotions firm recorded accumulated profits of €225,188 last year.

Confirmation of the surge in profits at the Dubliner's JAS Management and Promotions Ltd follows a summer to remember for the Ireland and Racing Metro fly-half, pictured left.

The 28-year-old got married earlier this month to childhood sweetheart Laura Priestley, days after playing a pivotal role in the Lions' defeat of Australia.

Now the former Leinster man is starting a new phase of his career at Racing Metro 92 in Paris, which makes him the highest ever paid Irish rugby player on a reported contract of €750,000 a year.

The accounts filed by Mr Sexton's firm show a vast improvement in its fortunes, with accumulated profits increasing by 72pc from €130,698 to €225,188 in the year to the end of last September.

In the year under view, his firm's cash increased almost four-fold from €20,857 to €81,762.

Mr Sexton's wife was also appointed a director to the firm in April of this year.
