The architectural firm led by co-presenter of RTE's Home of the Year, Hugh Wallace recorded profits of €125,578 last year.

Accounts lodged by Douglas Wallace Consultants Ltd show it paid out dividends of €90,828 to shareholders in the 12 months to the end of June last.

One of the firm's high-profile projects includes the recently opened €52m Hard Rock hotel on Dublin's Lord Edward Street. Douglas Wallace Architects was part of the hotel's design team.

Other projects include the Dundrum Town Centre and the Eyre Square Shopping Centre in Galway.

The profit of €125,578 last year represents a 26.6pc drop on the €171,115 recorded in the previous 12 months.

Staff costs, including directors' pay and pension contributions of €504,713, increased sharply to €1.226m from €872,511.

Money owed to the company by debtors went up to €632,713 from €388,467.
