Robbie Keane
Ireland's new assistant coach Robbie Keane is one of the most successful ever Irish sportspeople. Some will argue that the Tallaght striker never actually won a competition of note. But it is hard to argue with the 68 goals he scored for Ireland in an 18-year international career, making him his country's all-time top goalscorer.
It is also hard to argue with the wealth the Tallaght man amassed throughout his playing days as he plied his trade as a consummate professional first with Wolverhampton Wanderers as a tricky and exciting 17-year-old - scoring twice on his debut - all the way through to his stint with LA Galaxy, where he scored 104 goals in six seasons. After Wolves, Keane spent time at Coventry, Inter Milan, Leeds, Spurs, Liverpool, Celtic, West Ham and Aston Villa - but he will always be remembered best for the goals he scored in a green shirt.
