Joe Sloan (72) and his family own around half of the enormous food and drinks and distribution group, SHS, which was launched in 1975 by Joe Sloan and Geoff Salters. The Belfast-based group reported sales of over half a billion pounds last year (Â£545.7m or €613m) for the first time. The group owns numerous household names such as WKD, Shloer and Merrydown cider. The business cited acquisitions and some astute management of foreign exchange exposure. Among its most notable deals was that of No&More, the water brand founded by a former marketing director of Evian.
