Clearway Hammond Group was established in the mid-1960s when John Murphy started in the waste management and scrap recycling business. The Antrim-based firm grew to become one of the largest and most profitable waste and metal recycling operations in Ireland and the UK. Both John and his wife Dorothy have passed away and the business is now owned by the family. There were net assets of 109m.
