Ranelagh-born Dublin publican Keane and his family control Drayton House Holdings, the company behind the Oliver St John Gogarty and 100-bedroom Blooms Hotels in Temple Bar.
He spent 28m to build up a huge land bank in the Liberties and is working on a 100m redevelopment of the Iveagh Markets which he expects to be completed within two years. Daughter Martina was given 49pc of his Drayton House Holdings.
Keane owns property on Pembroke Road and Elgin Road in Dublin 4, an office building on Merrion Square, a “place in Howth”, student accommodation in Waterford and Athlone, holiday apartments in Youghal and about five houses in Belfast. There are also 50-plus apartments in Dublin and a 1.7m collection of wine.
