Joseph Brennan heads up the Brennans Bread family business, the biggest selling sliced pan brand in Ireland with a 25.4pc market share. However, the bread market has become fiercely competitive with everyone from Lidl to corner bakeries now offering fresh varieties.
The company is unlimited and doesn't have to file accounts. Before it became unlimited nearly a decade ago, there were sales of 62m. The family are also big property investors, with assets in central Dublin, including the office block at the Screen beside Trinity College and the Drury Street car park, as well as the Tiffany and Versace stores in London.
