Quinn owned about 45pc of Superquinn, which was sold to property developers for 420m in 2005. There was a fair bit of debt, so Quinn is estimated to have made 135m before tax.
Quinn provided precise details of his investments to the Oireachtas every year when he was a Senator for NUI. He's invested in private equity funds and complex financial derivatives fund.
Quinn has a lot of other interesting stakes, including a holding in Avolon, the Irish aviation leasing company which sold for 2.1bn in 2015, the Jurys Inns business and solar energy group Elgin. He is also an investor in Pre-Pay Power and the McCabe's wine chain.
