Low-profile Anthony (58), Padraig (57), Thomas (56) and Liam (52) Smyth run the Smyths toy empire. The Galway brothers are the biggest toy sellers in these islands with 21 shops largely in big retail parks across Ireland and another 71 in the UK. Sales in the UK jumped 34pc last year to €336m as the operation expanded rapidly.

The Irish company is unlimited and does not have to file accounts; we estimate that it had sales approaching €100m. Demand for Kylo Ren's space ship and other Star Wars merchandise, is likely to boost the bottom line further. The brothers own commercial properties, pubs and have invested in companies such as Barry O'Sullivan's Altocloud. They have also shared vast pay cheques including a €14.1m management fee in 2007.
