Developers who have exited Nama are included on the Rich List for the first time. Ross (63) was one of the biggest housebuilders during the boom, constructing around 16,000 homes around Dublin. He told a court that he was probably a billionaire during those days. Asset values crumbled.
However, Ross (63) paid off Nama last year, with his final €40m in debts refinanced following a deal with private equity group Carlyle Cardinal. He also owns hotels including the Dylan. Ross was one of the 'Maple 10', a group of businessmen that bought shares in the doomed Anglo Irish bank as part of a contrmore thansial and complex transaction.
