Sandymount born Berber (57) was an early Irish success story in the tech sector.
He turned Cybercorp into a vast online trading system, persuading Charles Schwab to buy it for $488m in 2000. The Texas-based Berber is now a full-time philanthropist, giving away much of his money funding and developing a number of projects in Africa. He does spend a little bit of the fortune going to high-profile motor racing events though.
