Father and son team Michael (67) and Brian (44) Enright are one of Ireland's great untold business stories. They turned Walsh Western, a small west of Ireland transport company, into the Syncreon global logistics group.
Private equity groups Centerbridge and GenX360 now hold a majority stake in the business, and close to €395m in dividends has been paid out in the last four years, after a series of refinancing deals.
There's a hefty €670m in debt, which was downgraded by Moody's last year. A €850m-plus deal to sell the company in 2013 fell through. Michael was a big property investor, helping to bankroll the €330m purchase of Millennium Park in Kildare during the boom. Brian is now based in Michigan, while his father has a castle near Fermoy.
