Belfast-born Wheeler (66) and her husband shared €121m in various tranches when BBC Worldwide took control of their Lonely Planet travel guide book business.
It started off when they bought a €100 camper van and travelled through south Asia in 1973. They wrote a book and stapled it together on their kitchen table before selling it. It did ok but the second one sold 1m copies. The Melbourne-based Wheelers have now turned to full-time philanthropy.
