Former Bank of Ireland teller Eddie Jordan (68) made the bulk of his money from Formula One, setting up the Jordan racing team in 1991, ultimately selling out for around €75m in 2005.

The Dubliner has spent a lot of that money on luxury Sunseeker yachts, owning nine in 22 years. The latest one cost €43m, with the 155ft beast having its own nightclub on board. Jordan put a chunk of money in the Clareville Capital hedge fund, which has made 39pc returns over the last five years.

He's also one of the backers of Debrett's - the style and etiquette bible of British blue-bloods. Jordan, who owns a €15,000 Dolan racing bike that weighs just 6kg, cycles around 200 miles a week.
