Wicklow-based Richard Roche (58) and members of the famous retailing family sold their Roches Stores department store business to Debenhams for €29m at the top of the market. They kept ownership of the properties, which have come back in value. There’s an €18m rent roll too.
Their Frascati mall was on the block for €65m earlier this year, around 10 years after they’d bought it for €50m. Some €137m in loans associated with their assets were put up for sale as part of the Ulster Bank deleveraging.
