London-based Peter Mullen (59) and his brothers James (54) and John (62) set up the yuppie Thomas Pink shirt-making firm in 1984, selling to LVMH for around €75m. Peter helped rescue the Hunter boot company, turning it into the must-have accessory for posher rock festivals.
Searchlight Capital bought the firm for €120m, with Mullen owning an 18.2pc stake. He’s maintained an interest. Mullen owns a home worth about €10m close to Harrods in Knightsbridge and has invested in waste-to-energy projects technology as well as putting around €900,000 into Clickstream Technologies. James has moonlighted as a cabaret singer using the stage name Jimmy Fontaine.
