Ballinrobe brothers Padraic (62) and Martin (54) McHale own McHale Engineering, one of the country’s largest farm machinery equipment manufacturers. Before becoming an unlimited company in 2010, McHale Engineering had retained profits of €68.4m.
The brothers are also active in the recovering property market, hooking up with the Comer brothers for a massive commercial and residential block in Ballsbridge. The site, originally bought for €171m during the boom, was picked up by the Comer and McHale group for just over €22m in 2011. It may be worth as much as €100m when finished.
