Retail sales unchanged in November 2013

There was no change in the volume of retail sales in November 2013 but on an annual basis the increase was 1.7pc, figures from the Central Statistics Office show.

If Motor Trades are excluded there was an increase of 1.3pc in the volume of retail sales in November 2013 when compared with October 2013 and there was an increase of 1.6pc in the annual figure.

The sectors with the largest month on month volume increases were clothing and footwear, up over 5.5pc and department stores up 4.2pc.

There was a decrease of -0.3pc in the value of retail sales in November 2013 when compared with October 2013.
