Rathangan site on market for €600k

The former Drummond Seeds site in Rathangan, Co Kildare, most of it zoned town centre, is for sale with an asking price of €600,000.

Agents Savills points out that the 6.2-acre site also benefits from a local area plan and an action area plan, which suggest potential for development of a local retail centre and traditional housing units as an extension of the town centre.

A sliver of the site is zoned Open Space and Amenity and the Grand Canal and Slate River run along the boundary, providing scenic frontage. Rathangan is about 15km from Kildare town and 50km south-west of Dublin city.

The vendor is receiver Kieran Wallace of KPMG, who was appointed by Bank of Ireland on foot of €20m owed by G & K Building, a Kildare property group whose projects also include the Waterways development in Sallins.
