Profits soar 43pc at medical device firm
PROFITS at a Shannon, Co Clare-based medical devices maker rose 43pc to $113.9m (€83.2m) last year.
Zimmer Orthopaedics Manufacturing Ltd is the Irish arm of a US firm that set up here in 2009.
The sharp rise followed a 51pc jump in revenues to $237.9m in the 12 months to the end of December. The company makes orthopaedic femoral knees and figures show staff costs for 2012 rose from $12m to $14.6m.
