A new primary-care centre is to open at High Street Ashbourne, formerly known as the Ashbourne Town Centre, in Co Meath, this summer and will provide a range of health and social services in conjunction with the HSE.
Fit-out of the 1,765sqm facility is under way and services will include GP, public-health nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology and a range of outreach consulting services.
The Community Mental Health Team and Day Hospital for Mental Health Services, located in Dunshaughlin Health Care Unit, will transfer to this new facility. Local GPs Dr Stephen Murphy and Dr Aisling Malone will be co-located within this building. It is hoped to have all of these services in place and open to the public by autumn of 2012.
HSE is rolling out its Primary Care Infrastructure Initiative Scheme to provide integrated primary care teams in locations serving about 10,000 people.
The facility will occupy the last of the office space available at High Street Ashbourne, although some own-door units are available.
Aidan Grimes of Colliers is quoting rents of €150 to €180 per sqm for these units.
