Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI) has announced the appointment of Pádraig Ó Ríordáin as non-executive Chairman.
The operator of the National Lottery also revealed the appointment of Vivienne Jupp as a non-executive director.
Both appointments are effective as of March 2018.
A leading corporate lawyer with extensive board and regulatory experience, Padraig was a former managing partner of legal firm Arthur Cox.
In 2009 he was named European Managing Partner of the year (while at Arthur Cox) and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Awards by the Managing Partners forum three years later.
His board appointments include Chair of the DAA, non-executive director of Paddy Power Betfair, and non-executive director of TVC Holdings.
With over 20 years of experience in senior commercial roles and on boards, Vivienne Jupp worked for Accenture until 2007 and was named its first female partner in Europe.
She recently stepped down from being Chair of Coras Iompair Eireann which underwent a significant digital transformation during her time as Chair.
Current Chairman Bogdan Cenanovic, said that "good governance is fundamental to Premier Lotteries’ success".
"We are delighted to have Pádraig and Vivienne join PLI’s board. Their appointments further align PLI’s board with such best governance practices as diversity and having independent directors," he said.
"Their wealth of experience will be invaluable in helping PLI achieve its goals of driving responsible growth and raising funds for good causes, building on the €5bn of good causes raised to date since the lottery’s inception."
